FIG CRUMBLE

method:
Grease the baking dish (diameter of 19 cm or smaller baking dishes) with butter and sprinkle with a spoonful of breadcrumbs.
Cut the washed figs in their skins in quarters, pour over honey and lemon juice, dust with a spoonful of flour, mix and place in the baking dish.
Mix the breadcrumbs, oatmeal, sugar, cinnamon, flour, butter, a pinch of grated nutmeg and a pinch of salt in a bowl and create a crumb with your fingers. Cover with it the prepared figs. Press your fingers lightly to create a solid surface.
Bake for 40 minutes at 180 °C/ 356 °F with hot air/fan. After baking, let chill for at least 10 minutes. Serve with ice cream, sorbet or whipped cream.

Tips and tricks:
– Try to divide the pie into smaller bowls before baking. Reduce baking time and serve as a small dessert separately for each person.
– You can also prepare the fig crumble in advance, keep it in the fridge and bake it only when the time is right.
– Replace figs with plums, peaches, strawberries, rhubarb, apricots or apples and wild berries.
